About the role and where you will be working:
This position is based at Victoria Park House in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. We are seeking someone who takes genuine pride in delivering high quality hospitality services and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will provide support across laundry, cleaning, and food services, ensuring residents receive exceptional service and comfort.
This hands on role plays an important part in the day to day operations of the home, while upholding infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times. This is a permanent position working 69 hours per fortnight covering a mixture of shifts.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Undertaking laundry services, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linen and residents' clothing in accordance with infection control procedures.
- Maintaining laundry areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
- Performing general cleaning duties across resident, communal, dining, and service areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and waste removal.
- Assisting with daily kitchen operations, including basic food preparation, meal plating, and portioning in accordance with menus and dietary requirements.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment through dishwashing, cleaning equipment and surfaces, and adhering to food safety standards.
- Supporting meal service by setting up and clearing dining areas, delivering meals to residents, and providing a positive dining experience.
- Monitoring and replenishing laundry, cleaning, and kitchen supplies, and assisting with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
- Following infection control, workplace health and safety, food handling,
and cleaning procedures at all times while working collaboratively with the wider hospitality team.
About you:

You’re a natural multitasker with strong time management skills, and you thrive in environments where care, consistency, and attention to detail truly matter. You feel at home in a kitchen setting and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of our residents.
To be considered for this role you’ll need:
- Minimum 1 year hospitality experience.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including safe food handling and cleaning practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
- Reliable and self motivated work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of infection prevention and control in an aged care setting.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records when handling food, cleaning tasks, or stock.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, public holidays, and short notice coverage when required.
