Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling, comprising CPB Contractors, Ghella, and Acciona Construction. Together, we are delivering the southern section of tunnels for Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East – 16km of twin tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, which will be Victoria’s longest transport tunnel. This project is being delivered on behalf of the Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).

SRL East, spanning from Cheltenham to Box Hill, is now being constructed. Tunnelling is set to commence in 2026, with trains expected to begin running by 2035. The works include 55 cross passages, two tunnel portal structures, two station box excavations, and various associated support tasks.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support the delivery of people-focused strategies across our project. This role will play a key part in partnering with leaders and employees to provide professional HR advice, drive employee engagement, support workforce planning, and contribute to a positive and productive workplace culture.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships across all levels of the business and provide both strategic and operational HR support to help achieve project and organisational objectives.

About The Position

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a broad range of human resources activities.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

- Providing HR advice and support to managers and employees across the employee lifecycle.
- Supporting workforce planning, talent acquisition and succession planning initiatives.
- Managing employee relations matters, including performance management,



investigations and conflict resolution.
- Assisting leaders with people management, coaching and development initiatives.
- Supporting the implementation of HR policies, procedures and best practices.
- Identifying current and future people-related risks and opportunities and developing strategies to support business outcomes.
- Contributing to employee engagement, retention and wellbeing programs.
- Coordinating training, development and career progression initiatives.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant employment legislation, awards, policies and procedures.
- Providing reporting and insights on workforce trends and people metrics.

About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- 10+ years' experience in a senior Human Resources role, preferably within construction, infrastructure, engineering or a project-based environment.

- Robust experience providing trusted HR advice and guidance to leaders and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations and performance matters.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, contemporary awards and HR best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational support.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation and influencing capabilities.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline.
