Gibson Austwide is looking for a reliable and experienced Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver to join our growing team based in Prestons.

About the Role As an HR Driver, you will be responsible for local pick-up and delivery operations throughout the metropolitan area, ensuring freight is delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate 12 and 14-pallet curtain-sided rigid trucks
- Complete local pick-up and delivery runs within scheduled timeframes
- Safely secure and transport freight in accordance with load restraint requirements




- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic records
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
- Follow company policies and safe work procedures

About You To be successful in this role, you will have a:

- Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence
- Minimum 2 years' MR or HR driving experience
- Strong knowledge of tautliner operations and load restraint practices
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
- Experience with manual handling and freight operations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads effectively
- Current Driver History Report

Desirable:

- Experience in local freight, transport or palletised distribution
- Knowledge of metropolitan delivery networks
- Forklift Licence
