BWE Drilling - Drill & Blast
Our Drill & Blast division delivers full production drilling and specialised blasting services across mining and civil projects. Services are designed to achieve high productivity while minimising impact on surrounding environments and active operations.
BWE Drilling - Exploration
Our Exploration division is an established drilling contractor supporting exploration and mining programs with Air Core, Reverse Circulation and Diamond Drilling services. The team works across diverse greenfield and brownfield projects in Australia.
BWE Drilling - Waterwell
Our Waterwell division specialises in water bore drilling and well services, operating across local government and Tier 1 mining clients in Australia. Projects range from mine‑site water supply to deep artesian bore drilling.
We're looking for a proactive and relationship-focused HSE Advisor to join our Drill & Blast division. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being visible in the field, building strong working relationships, and helping teams achieve practical safety outcomes.
Working closely with site leaders, operational teams and our experienced HSEQT team,
you'll play an important role in supporting safe and efficient operations while helping connect day-to-day site activities with broader business safety initiatives. You'll be a trusted advisor, coach and problem solver who can influence positive outcomes across all levels of the business.
This role operates on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, with approximately a one-hour flight followed by a one-hour drive to site.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day HSE support, coaching and guidance to site leadership and operational teams
- Foster strong working relationships across site operations and the wider business to ensure safety initiatives are practical, effective and aligned
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and field interactions to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions
- Assist in maintaining compliance with legislation, company standards and client requirements
- Facilitate risk assessments, safety meetings and consultation activities
- Contribute to the development and review of procedures, systems and safety documentation
- Monitor and report on HSE performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Champion a positive safety culture through visible leadership, engagement and coaching in the field
- Work collaboratively with our HSEQT team to deliver consistent support and outcomes across the business
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in an HSE Advisor or similar capacity in a remote work environment - ideally within mining, drilling, civil construction or heavy industry
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles
- Experience conducting investigations, audits and workplace inspections
- The ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Solid organisational and reporting capabilities
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- ICAM Lead Investigator qualification desirable
- Current C Class WA driver's licence
