HR Manager – Queensland
Location: Queensland (Hybrid/Flexible Working Available)

As our organisation continues to expand across Queensland, we are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead our People & Culture function and support the growth of a capable, engaged, and compliant workforce.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources across Queensland operations. You will work closely with operational leaders to provide strategic and operational HR support while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, the SCHADS Award, and NDIS Practice Standards.
The successful candidate will be passionate about building positive workplace culture, driving workforce capability, and supporting managers with complex people matters.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Planning & Recruitment
- Lead workforce planning initiatives to support organisational growth.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.
- Ensure all employees meet NDIS compliance and screening requirements.
- Develop strategies to attract, engage, and retain quality employees.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Provide expert advice on employee relations matters.
- Manage workplace investigations, grievances, complaints, and disciplinary processes.
- Support managers with performance management, coaching, and development plans.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and promote positive workplace relationships.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, National Employment Standards, SCHADS Award, and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Maintain workforce compliance records, mandatory training, and employee documentation.
- Support NDIS audits and ensure HR systems remain audit-ready.
- Oversee workers compensation, injury management, and return-to-work processes.
Learning & Development
- Identify workforce capability gaps and implement training initiatives.
- Support leadership development and succession planning.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
HR Systems & Reporting
- Manage HR systems and employee records.
- Monitor workforce metrics, turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment performance.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
Culture & Engagement
- Champion organisational values and a positive workplace culture.
- Lead employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
- Partner with operational teams to improve employee experience and retention.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HR Generalist, HR Manager, or HR Business Partner role.
- Solid knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations.
- Demonstrated experience managing workplace investigations and employee relations matters.
- Experience interpreting and applying Up-to-date Awards, preferably SCHADS.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within the disability, community services, healthcare, or NDIS sector.
- Knowledge of NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission requirements.
- Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Experience with Employment Hero, BrightHR, ShiftCare, or similar HR systems.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card) or willingness to obtain.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Current National Police Check.
- Working rights in Australia.
