We are currently seeking an Electrical Leading Hand at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) - Coppabella Mine. Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets. With the addition of the Moorvale South extension, CMJV continues to expand its coal production capabilities.

About the role:

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this frontline leadership role is responsible for supporting and supervising electrical maintenance activities across mobile and field equipment. You will provide technical guidance to the electrical crew, contribute to equipment reliability and availability, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site requirements.

Duties will include:

- Support the Electrical Supervisor through hands-on electrical work and supervision of personnel as required.
- Provide technical guidance for electrical fault finding, inspections, repairs and installations.
- Execute electrical maintenance activities in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, site Safety and Health Management Systems, and risk management processes.
- Manage unplanned breakdowns and carry out preventative maintenance activities.
- Create, manage and complete SAP work orders and defect notifications.
- Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to achieve operational targets.
- Act in the Electrical Supervisor role when required to maintain leadership continuity.
- Lead by example and promote a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 7/7 day shift roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or salary sacrificed FIFO lifestyle. Employees residing locally may be eligible for a $15,000 housing allowance.

About you:





The successful candidate will hold a Queensland Electrical Fitter/Electrical Mechanic qualification and have experience in an open cut mining maintenance environment. You will also have:

- Current High Voltage Switching qualifications.
- Coal Mining Supervisor competencies (RIICOM301, RIIOHS301 and RIIRIS301).
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising electrical crews.
- Experience working with High Voltage reticulation networks, including protection systems, fault finding and maintenance.
- Previous experience on electric drive haul truck fleets including Liebherr T282, Komatsu 830E/930E and Hitachi EH4000.
- Experience maintaining field equipment including P&H; 4100 A/C and D/C shovels and draglines.
- Strong SAP or CMMS work management system experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Robust commitment to workplace safety, compliance and operational excellence.

In addition to the above requirements, the successful candidate will be an effective team leader and team player, possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

- Previous experience as a High Voltage Switching Coordinator.
- Relevant post-trade qualifications.
- Advanced SAP or asset management system experience.
