In this role the Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for the collection, evaluation, analysis and dissemination of timely intelligence advice to appropriate Agency personnel and external stakeholders to inform decision making. This advice aims to support the implementation of risk management strategies to maintain the security, positive order and management of offenders within correctional facilities and the wider community.
The Primary Accountabilities Of The Intelligence Analyst Include
- Provide intelligence advice to internal and external stakeholders to mitigate identified risks to operations or in response to major incidents.
- Collect, evaluate, and analyse information from internal holdings and open source avenues to update agency information and intelligence systems.
- Review and evaluate information notes, intelligence, and incident reports daily to identify issues of concern relevant to the centre/region/agency.
- Identify potential targets, risks and emerging trends that may impact the agency or broader region.
- Generate and disseminate intelligence products to inform and influence internal and external stakeholders and maintain accurate records in QCS information and intelligence systems.
- Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies while ensuring the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Respond to requests for information, intelligence holdings or association information from internal and external stakeholders.
- Interview informants to gather information about potential threats, illicit activities, or prisoner and offender behaviour.
- Contribute to a positive team culture that values diversity and interacts effectively with diverse target groups.
- Support intelligence awareness amongst staff to promote the value and use of intelligence as a risk mitigation strategy.
- Participate in meetings and forums with internal and external stakeholders that contributes to the management of prisoners and offenders in their respective locations.
