We are working with a progressive accounting and wealth services firm based in Sydney CBD. They provide tax, advisory, and wealth management services to HNW family groups and trading businesses of varying size and complexity. They like to consider themselves as "Accounting 2.0" - offering a more consultative and advisory based service beyond your stereo-typical number crunching accountant.

They have a headcount of 25 in Sydney with their accounting division consisting of 2 Partners, and 3 teams, each run by a Senior Manager. They are now looking to recruit an Intermediate Accountant for one of these teams. You will be working for a supportive and down-to-earth manager and will have exposure to a wide variety of clients (and the opporutnity to deal directly with them) while also recieveing close mentorship and training from one of the Partners.

The firms tech stack includes Xero, XPM, FYI Docs, and Active Workpapers (prior experience with any of these software would be advatageous).

Key duties include

- Reporting into a Senior Manager, and working in collaboration with other accountants and offshore team members
- Undertaking compliance work including individual and entity tax returns and financial statements, BAS, IAS, CGT, GST, FBT etc.
- Assisting with several external audit engagements throughout the year
- Communicating with clients via phone, email and in-person
- Liaising with statutory bodies such as the ATO & ASIC, as well as other external service providers

The ideal candidate will:
- Possess a degree in Commerce/Business with a focus on Accounting (or be working towards and available full-time)
- A minimu m of 18 months experience in the accounting industry (ideally within a public practice firm)
- Undertaking or looking to commence CA or CPA studies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have a strong sense of initiative, a positive attitude and be a team-player
