About The Role The Investment Analyst will play a key role in supporting the management of NGS Super's equity portfolios and helping deliver strong investment outcomes for our members.

Working closely with the Head of Equities, you'll assist with manager selection, manager monitoring and the day-to-day oversight of domestic and international equity portfolios. You'll conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis, maintain portfolio and performance models, prepare investment reports and support major investment initiatives across the equity sector.

This is a highly analytical role that will provide exposure to investment managers, consultants and industry participants while helping to shape investment decisions across a significant institutional portfolio. You'll also support manager appointments, investment transitions, fee negotiations and legal documentation, working collaboratively across Investments, Investment Operations and external service providers.

What You'll Do

- Source, assess and recommend high-quality equity managers using research databases, consultant insights and manager meetings.




- Conduct due diligence on prospective and existing investment managers, including reviews of people, process, philosophy, performance, portfolio fit and compliance.
- Monitor managers' adherence to investment guidelines, ESG policies and carbon objectives, escalating issues where required.
- Analyse equity portfolio positioning, performance, risk exposures, style factors, carbon intensity and other ESG considerations.
- Prepare investment reports, meeting papers, analysis and insights for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain quantitative models and analytical tools to support research, due diligence, manager monitoring and portfolio oversight.
- Assist with fee negotiations, investment management agreements and other legal documentation.
- Support investment implementation activities, transitions and portfolio rebalancing in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provide data analysis and research support to assist investment decision-making and ongoing portfolio management.

About You

You'll bring

- A bachelor's degree and postgraduate qualifications, or be currently undertaking postgraduate study, in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Commerce, Economics, Actuarial Studies or the CFA Program.
- 5+ years' experience within asset management, investments or investment consulting, with a demonstrated interest in superannuation and investment markets.





- Experience in investment manager research, selection and monitoring within a multi-manager investment environment.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including advanced Excel capabilities.
- The ability to interpret financial data, company financial statements and investment performance information.
- Knowledge of Australian and global equity markets, market indices and investment style factors.
- Experience using AI and automation tools to improve analysis, reporting efficiency and business outcomes.

It will be a bonus if you have:
- Experience using portfolio and investment research tools such as Bloomberg, eVestment or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled workflows and practical applications of AI to investment research, reporting and analysis.
