Geriatrician – Permanent Full-TimeRegional NSW | Major Regional Hospital | Specialist & SIMG Opportunity Lead high-quality, holistic care for an ageing population while making a meaningful contribution to a growing regional health service.

Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Geriatrician to join a dynamic regional health service in New South Wales on a permanent full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist who enjoys a broad clinical role, multidisciplinary practice and the opportunity to contribute to the development of models of care for an ageing regional population.

The Opportunity As a Geriatrician, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centred assessment and management of older patients across the acute and extended care settings.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the ongoing development of geriatric medicine services across the region.
The role provides the opportunity to:

- Deliver specialist geriatric assessment and management.
- Provide holistic, patient-centred care to an ageing population.
- Work across acute and extended care environments.
- Collaborate closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case management and care planning.
- Support the development and improvement of models of geriatric care.
- Provide specialist input and clinical leadership within a major regional service.
- Participate in teaching, education and professional development activities.

The Hospital The hospital is a 200-bed acute and extended care facility providing a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to the surrounding regional and rural communities.

- Extended care
- Regional specialist services

The hospital functions as an important referral and healthcare hub for the surrounding rural population.
The region also experiences significant seasonal population growth during the annual fruit harvest, with approximately 10,000 itinerant workers from across Australia and overseas visiting the area.

The Requirements Applicants must meet the following requirements:

- FRACP with specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA.
- Candidates expecting to attain FRACP within the next six months are encouraged to apply.
- SIMGs assessed by the RACP as Substantially Comparable are welcome to apply.
- International specialists from New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa and Hong Kong are encouraged to enquire, particularly those with at least 1–2 years of specialist experience.
- Demonstrated experience in Geriatric Medicine.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred clinical care.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary team skills.
