Job Description
Agile Lead (SFIA PRMG Level 6) | NV1 Clearance
n
We are seeking an experienced Agile Lead to support a large and complex Federal Government digital program. The successful candidate will coach multidisciplinary ICT teams, facilitate agile delivery activities and improve collaboration, delivery predictability and agile maturity across the program.

Role Details

- SFIA level: PRMG Level 6
n
- Estimated start date: 1 October 2026, or as soon as possible
n
- Contract duration: Full-time contract until 30 June 2027
n
- Extension: Possible six-month extension options
n
- Location: Canberra preferred, as several key stakeholders are based in Canberra
n
- Security clearance: Current NV1 clearance required
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Coach and mentor agile teams in adopting and continuously improving agile practices and ways of working.
n
- Facilitate Program Increment Planning, iteration planning, reviews, retrospectives and team alignment sessions.
n
- Identify and help remove impediments affecting delivery.
n
- Support Product Owners, delivery teams and stakeholders with prioritisation, dependency management and delivery transparency.
n
- Develop meaningful delivery metrics and reporting covering team performance, flow, predictability and agile maturity.
n
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, action planning and outcome tracking.
n
- Foster collaboration and alignment across multiple teams, stakeholders and governance forums.
n
- Maintain effective communication between delivery teams, senior leadership, executives and business stakeholders.
n
- Support stakeholder engagement and business continuity throughout the delivery lifecycle.
n
- Contribute to organisational agile capability uplift through mentoring, Communities of Practice and knowledge-sharing activities.
n
n
Essential Experience
n
n
- At least five years of experience supporting agile product delivery teams in complex ICT environments.
n
- At least five years of experience leading or supporting multidisciplinary ICT delivery teams.
n
- Demonstrated experience facilitating agile ceremonies and enabling high-performing, self-organising teams.
n
- Proven ability to coach delivery teams, leaders and stakeholders in agile principles and practices.
n
- Experience managing delivery impediments, risks and cross-team dependencies.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
n
- Experience developing and using agile delivery metrics to improve performance and delivery outcomes.
n
- Experience working within Australian Federal Government projects or programs.
n
- Ability to deliver outcomes within challenging and time-sensitive environments.
n
n
Desirable Experience
n
n
- Experience working within SAFe Agile Release Trains and large-scale agile delivery environments.
n
- Experience improving cross-team coordination and building team-oriented team cultures.
n
- Experience supporting Product Owners, Product Managers and delivery leadership functions.
n
n
Essential Qualifications
n
n
- Tertiary qualification in ICT, Business, Project Management or a related discipline.
n
- SAFe Practice Consultant, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Release Train Engineer or an equivalent agile certification.
n
- Agile Coaching, Enterprise Coaching or a comparable agile facilitation certification.
n
n
Qualifications or certifications in Project Management, Program Management, Agile Delivery, PMBOK or PRINCE2 will be highly regarded.
