About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team at our Malvern office on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to develop their skills whilst working alongside experienced professionals. In this role, you will support the delivery of accounting and financial services to our clients, contributing to the quality and timeliness of our work.

This position plays an important part in our service delivery and offers genuine pathways for professional development and career advancement within the firm.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for clients across various industries
- Perform bookkeeping and general ledger management tasks, including data entry and reconciliation
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
- Support the audit and review process, including working papers and documentation
- Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Respond to client enquiries regarding their accounts and financial positions
- Assist with business advisory matters, including GST compliance and payroll processing
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations




- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the firm

What we're looking for

- Completion of, or significant progress towards, a recognised accounting qualification (CPA, CA or similar)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
- Proficiency in accounting software packages such as MYOB, Xero or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of taxation principles and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning
- Professional attitude with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experience with business services or corporate advisory work is highly desirable
