About the role

We are an award winning, family-owned independent premium food retail destination based in Terrey Hills, NSW. With over 20 years' experience, we've built a reputation for providing high-quality fresh products for our customers. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pastry Chef who is either fully qualified or nearing completion of their qualification and looking to further develop their skills within a retail focused patisserie setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious pastry professional who is eager to expand their knowledge, gain hands-on experience and work alongside an experienced team in a unique retail environment.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Patisserie Department
- Assist customers with any enquiries and orders
- Preparation and production of cakes, tarts, pastries, desserts and specialty baked goods
- Decorating and finishing products to a high standard
- Maintain consistency, quality and presentation standards,



ensuring products are displayed and merchandised in accordance with Forestway Fresh guidelines
- Follow recipes, ingredient preparation, schedules and routines for smooth and efficient operations in the Patisserie department
- Ensure all protocols for food handling and safety are being adhered to
- Adhere to health and safety standards without compromise
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment

About you

- Trade qualified Pastry Chef, Apprentice nearing completion or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in pastry and baking
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer-focussed with a friendly and approachable manner
- Genuine passion for pastry and artisan baking
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
