About the role In this highly sought-after casual position you will support our high throughput CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Laboratory to meet business demands during the busy soil season. You'll play an important role supporting growers, agribusinesses and research partners across Australia through the delivery of accurate and reliable laboratory results
Key responsibilities will include
- Analyse soil and plant samples using modern laboratory equipment and established testing methodologies.
- Prepare samples,
chemical reagents and standards in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Ensure testing is completed accurately, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment to support consistent and reliable results.
- Follow strict quality assurance processes and laboratory methodologies.
- Contribute to a safe working environment and maintain a strong focus on safety at all times.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive, accountable and high-performing team.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory efficiency and performance
Our team of casual Laboratory Technicians are rostered in line with the demands of our laboratory, with shifts rostered between the laboratory’s operating hours of 5am-7pm during the summer months, which is typically from the beginning of January through until April. These roles will be offered with great flexibility to work part time hours, job share arrangements and schools hours. Please be aware that inclusion in the casual pool does not guarantee a set number of shifts or hours throughout the season. We'll begin training in November, but things are expected to get busier in December and January.
About You To be successful in the role you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
- Prioritising and understanding of safety at all times.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately analyse data.
- Experience with Wet Chemistry techniques is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working in a high throughput laboratory will be highly regarded.
