High-End Garden Maintenance

This is not a mow, blow and go maintenance job.

If you want to race through a garden, tick off a list and move on to the next property — this probably won’t suit you.

If you know your plants, notice the details other people miss, and get genuine satisfaction from leaving a garden looking exceptional — keep reading.

What this role actually is

We’re Nest Landscape Design, Construction & Maintenance.

We design, build and maintain high-end residential landscapes across the Gold Coast.

Our maintenance team looks after established gardens that have been carefully designed, built and planted — and our job is to make sure they keep getting better.

We’re looking for an experienced Garden Maintenance team member who understands that great garden maintenance is about a lot more than mowing lawns and trimming hedges.

You’ll be trusted to understand the gardens you work in, notice what they need and take ownership of the result.

What you’ll really be doing

You’ll

- Maintain high-end residential gardens to an exceptional standard

- Prune properly — understanding the plant, its form and how it should develop, rather than just cutting everything back

- Keep lawns sharp through mowing, edging, fertilising and seasonal care

- Identify weeds, pests, diseases and plant health issues before they become bigger problems

- Plant, mulch, improve soils and carry out general horticultural work

- Check irrigation and identify issues when something isn’t working as it should

- Notice when a garden could be better and make recommendations rather than simply walking past it

- Look after your tools,

equipment and vehicle like they’re your own

- Leave every property clean, considered and looking better than when you arrived

- Communicate confidently and professionally with our clients

- Keep site notes, photos and job information up to date

Most importantly, you’ll care about the finished result.

If something looks wrong, you notice it.

If a plant is struggling, you want to know why.

If something needs doing, you don’t wait for someone else to point it out.

What this role is not

- Not basic lawn mowing

- Not a race to get through as many properties as possible

- Not a role where someone will stand beside you telling you what to do all day

- Not a job for someone who thinks “good enough” is good enough

We work on beautiful properties and our clients expect a high standard.

Who fits here

You’ll do well if

- You genuinely know and enjoy plants and gardens

- You have experience in garden maintenance, landscaping or horticulture

- You know how to prune properly

- You have strong plant identification and horticultural knowledge

- You notice the small details

- You work efficiently without sacrificing quality

- You’re reliable, punctual and organised

- You’re comfortable working independently

- You’re professional around clients and their homes

- You take pride in your tools, vehicle and work area

- You don’t need someone constantly checking your work

A Certificate III in Horticulture is highly regarded, but strong hands-on experience and horticultural knowledge matter just as much.

A current driver’s licence is essential, with the ability to drive a manual preferred.

ACDC chemical accreditation is also highly regarded.

Why this is a good place to work

- You’ll maintain genuinely beautiful, high-end gardens

- You’re trusted to take ownership of your work

- We generally work 4 day weeks - Monday to Thursday

- You’re part of a landscape company that designs, builds and maintains its projects

- You work with capable people who care about what they produce

- Good work gets noticed

- Working with a family owned and operated business

- No corporate layers or politics

- Opportunity to grow as our maintenance division grows

We take our landscapes seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
