Lawyer – General Practice (2+ Years PAE)

We are seeking a capable and motivated Lawyer with 2+ years' post-admission experience to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys working across a broad range of matters, developing their experience and taking increasing responsibility for the management of their own files.

About the Role

You will work across a varied general practice and have the opportunity to develop experience in a number of areas, including commercial disputes, family law, wills and estates, criminal defence, building and construction, corporate and commercial matters and other general legal work.

Depending on your experience, key responsibilities will include:

- Managing your own matters with appropriate supervision and support.
- Advising clients across a range of legal issues.
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings, agreements and other legal documents.
- Conducting legal research and preparing written advice.
- Assisting with negotiations, mediations and court proceedings.
- Appearing in court where appropriate to your experience.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, other practitioners and external stakeholders.
- Progressing matters efficiently from commencement through to resolution.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.





About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Admission as a legal practitioner in Western Australia.
- A minimum of 2 years' post-admission experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and progress matters efficiently.
- A practical and commercially focused approach to legal work.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Experience in general litigation, commercial disputes or family law would be particularly advantageous.

Experience using Actionstep is also advantageous but not essential.

Salary

We expect the salary for this role to be in the range of approximately $95,000 to $125,000 + superannuation, depending on experience, capability and level of autonomy. Remuneration above this range may be considered for an exceptional candidate who has an existing client base, can demonstrate substantial file autonomy, advocacy skills, robust drafting capability, billing performance and/ or specialist expertise.
