Role Description This is a full-time, in office Lawyer role located in the Greater Perth Area. The Lawyer will manage a mixed portfolio of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters, including drafting pleadings, affidavits, correspondence, and settlement documents. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing legal opinions, advising clients on regulatory and compliance risks, and attending court appearances, mediations, and negotiations as required.
The role involves close collaboration with partners and colleagues, direct client contact, and proactive file management to ensure timely, cost-effective outcomes.
The Lawyer will also contribute to business development by nurturing referral relationships and supporting the firm’s reputation in the legal and professional community.
Qualifications
- Strong legal research, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills relevant to commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and advisory memoranda.
- Effective advocacy skills, with experience in negotiations, mediations, and court appearances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Solid time management, organization, and matter management skills, including the ability to handle multiple files and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and build strong client and referrer relationships.
- Admission as a Lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction and eligibility to practice in Western Australia.
- Experience in commercial litigation, regulatory matters, or dispute resolution, ideally within a private practice setting.
- Commitment to professional ethics, continuous learning, and keeping up to date with relevant legislation and case law.
