Allygroup is seeking a lawyer to join a federal government team responsible for reviewing and resolving complex administrative and employment-related matters. This opportunity is available for immediate commencement.

About the role The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of matters requiring detailed legal analysis, evidence assessment, and the preparation of recommendations for decision-makers.
Your responsibilities will include
- Conducting independent reviews of applications and complaints
- Analysing complex case files, evidence and supporting documentation
- Identifying and clarifying issues requiring consideration
- Obtaining and assessing additional information where necessary
- Preparing high-quality correspondence, reports, findings and recommendations
- Drafting briefing material and advice for senior stakeholders
- Managing multiple matters concurrently while meeting established timeframes
- Maintaining accurate records and case management documentation
- Participating in case discussions and knowledge-sharing activities
About you To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A law degree and eligibility to practise in Australia
- Solid legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear and concise documents
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policy and administrative frameworks
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
Desirable experience The following experience will be highly regarded:
- Previous experience working within the Australian Government
- Experience in administrative law, investigations, complaints handling, review processes, employment law, workplace matters, or statutory decision-making
- Experience preparing plain-English written advice and correspondence
