Lead Electronic Security Technician – Hands-On Team Leader

1Source is recruiting on behalf of an established electronic security provider seeking an experienced, hands-on Lead Electronic Security Technician.
This is not an office-based management role. We need an experienced technician who will work alongside the technical team in the field while helping to recruit, train and develop a reliable team of technicians.
You will report to the National Electronic Security Manager and take responsibility for the technical delivery and quality of field work.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working hands-on across service, installation, fault-finding and commissioning
- Leading technicians on commercial security projects and service work
- Supporting the recruitment and practical assessment of recent technicians
- Training, mentoring and developing technicians
- Allocating technical work and supporting effective job completion
- Reviewing workmanship and maintaining quality standards
- Assisting technicians with complex faults and technical problems
- Conducting site inspections, surveys and technical assessments
- Ensuring installation and service documentation is completed correctly
- Supporting customer delivery and resolving technical issues
- Helping build a capable, professional and dependable technical team
The position covers commercial facilities, strata properties, businesses and government sites across Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast.
Technical Experience
You should have strong practical experience across most of the following:
- CCTV systems
- Access control systems
- Intruder alarms
- IP and two-wire intercom systems
- Electronic security cabling and installation
- System programming and commissioning
- Service,
diagnostics and fault-finding
- Commercial electronic security projects
About You We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least five years of electronic security industry experience
- Is comfortable continuing to work hands-on in the field
- Can lead through practical knowledge and example
- Treats technicians respectfully and helps them improve
- Communicates clearly with customers, technicians and management
- Can assess workmanship and solve technical problems
- Is organised, reliable and focused on completing jobs properly
- Wants to help recruit and build a strong technical team
- Can work effectively within an established management structure
You must hold:
- A current NSW security licence covering relevant installation work
- A current cabling registration
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Australian working rights
