Software Development Lead – Microsoft Technology

We’re looking for an experienced Software Development Lead to join our Perth-based technology team and play a key role in shaping the development of up-to-date, scalable software solutions across our organisation.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine technical expertise, people leadership and architectural thinking to deliver high-quality software using the Microsoft technology ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering solid engineering practices and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical direction across software development projects and initiatives.
- Design and develop scalable applications using the Microsoft technology stack.
- Work closely with product, business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Champion modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code quality and DevOps.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and establish development standards and patterns.
- Review code and provide technical guidance to the development team.
- Help drive the adoption of cloud technologies and modern engineering approaches.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and developer productivity.
- Balance hands-on development with leadership, coaching and technical decision-making.

The technology stack We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience across technologies such as:

- C# / .NET / ASP.NET Core
- Microsoft Azure
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD
- SQL Server / Azure SQL
- REST APIs and microservices
- React, Angular or modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Git and automated testing




- Cloud-native and DevOps practices

Experience with Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, containers, APIs and event-driven architectures would also be highly regarded.

- Significant commercial software development experience.
- Strong experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing software engineering teams.
- A solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.
- Experience delivering solutions in Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A pragmatic approach to technology — you know when to innovate and when to keep things simple.
- A passion for building quality software and developing high-performing engineering teams.
