Join Ninety Three Group as a Leading Hand Carpenter

Ninety Three Group is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team.

We specialise in providing carpentry services for residential renovations, extensions, and custom builds. We are after someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and can help keep our sites running efficiently while still being hands-on on the tools.

We are seeking a qualified carpenter who can take ownership of the carpentry scope onsite, direct apprentices and labour, maintain quality, and communicate clearly with site supervisors and other trades.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand, you will play a key role in delivering our carpentry works onsite. You will be expected to lead from the front, set the pace, maintain quality, and help coordinate the day-to-day flow of carpentry tasks on site.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the tools while also guiding others and keeping work moving in the right direction.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside our team of apprentice and qualified carpenters onsite
- Carry out carpentry works to a high standard across framing, lock-up, fix and fit-off as required
- Read and interpret plans, details and specifications accurately
- Plan and sequence carpentry tasks to keep works moving efficiently
- Coordinate day-to-day activities with other trades and site supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
- Check works for quality and pick up issues before they become problems
- Help manage materials, deliveries and site set-up for the carpentry scope
- Mentor apprentices and help build solid onsite habits,



workmanship and accountability
- Communicate clearly with management regarding progress, site issues, material needs and upcoming works

What You’ll Bring

- Qualified carpenter with solid residential construction experience
- Previous experience leading or guiding a small team onsite
- Strong knowledge of residential carpentry methods and sequencing
- Ability to read plans and think ahead
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Valuable communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliability, motivation, and organisational ability
- White Card and current driver’s licence
- Own tools and reliable vehicle
