About the role The overall purpose of the Learning & Development Specialist – Children, Youth & Families is to deliver frontline, practice‑focused learning and development services that build workforce capability and support high‑quality outcomes for children, young people and families.

This role is predominantly training delivery focused, with a minimum of 70% of time spent delivering face‑to‑face training to CYF staff across multiple service locations. This role requires regular travel across South East Queensland and the ability to work flexibly in operational environments.

This is a Full Time Salaried position working 76 hours per fortnight based in our Eight Mile Plains office, with regular travel across all of the service locations in South East Queensland (including Gympie, Maroochydore, Nerang, Toowoomba and greater Brisbane areas).

Responsibilities:

- Deliver and facilitate learning and development programs across Child, Youth and Families services.
- Facilitate high-quality face-to-face training, including induction, mandatory and practice-based learning.
- Design and support blended learning approaches where appropriate.
- Ensure training supports legislative, funding and organisational requirements.
- Apply knowledge and expertise in child protection, trauma-informed practice and community services to learning design and delivery.
- Partner with leaders and teams to identify learning needs and align to operational priorities.




- Deliver the learning and development plan and training calendar across service locations.
- Conduct learning needs analyses and recommend targeted learning solutions.
- Evaluate training outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and report on learning participation, outcomes and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of learning resources, systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate learning records and training documentation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Stay informed about sector trends, legislative changes and emerging learning practices.
- Model Anglicare Southern Queensland's values and professional standards.

Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements

- A relevant Tertiary Qualification (Degree in Behavioural or Human Services, Education, Training or related field)
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence with own reliable vehicle (Preferred)
- Current Blue Card
- Current Licensed care Service (LCS)
- Ability to travel as required to designated service delivery areas across Queensland.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child, youth and family services, including child protection, trauma-informed practice and relevant legislative and practice frameworks, with the ability to translate this knowledge into effective learning and development outcomes.
- Certificate lV in Training and Assessment (TAE) (desired)
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
