Be Bold. Belong. Be More. At Southern Cross University, we do things differently, and so can you. A career with us is more than you might expect. Yes, it’s about the heart, connectedness and community you’d hope for in a regional university. But there’s also so much more. Our game changing brings a deeper, focused learning experience and our research is deeply connected to our regions, making a difference on a global scale.

This is your chance to help us build something new and meaningful for our students, our communities and your career. To drive change, make a real impact, and thrive in a place as unique as you.

You can be good anywhere. Here, you can be great.

Your opportunity

As Learning and Organisational Development Coordinator, you will coordinate university-wide learning, development and workplace culture programs, while taking the lead on the technology, systems and processes that make these initiatives work.

A key focus will be the ongoing management of SCU's staff Learning Management System (LMS), alongside major annual programs including Career Catalyst, Staff Feedback Surveys, Special Studies Leave and more.

This is a maternity leave opportunity suited to someone who genuinely cares about people and the organisation they work for. You will need to look beyond the immediate task, understand how your work connects across the University and be confident to influence decision making when a broader perspective is needed.

You will join a team known for its strong performance and contribution to capability building, including recognition through University and LearnX awards in recent years. Just as importantly, you’ll join a team that values people, supports one another’s growth and create an environment where everyone is encouraged to reach their potential.

You will make an impact as you:

- Lead the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of SCU’s staff LMS, including content, access, reporting and user support.
- Coordinate university-wide learning, development and culture programs from planning through to supporting internal/external facilitators,

as well as gathering and reporting on participation and feedback.
- Develop clear, engaging communications, resources and guidance that create a positive experience for staff and program participants.
- Use reporting, feedback and insights to identify opportunities to improve learning programs, systems and employee engagement.
- Work collaboratively across People & Culture and the wider University to solve issues, connect priorities and deliver quality outcomes.

What You Will Bring You will be a highly organised and proactive coordinator who enjoys making things happen and finding practical solutions. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working independently within finite timeframes and bringing others along with you. You will also bring bigger picture thinking, connecting people and opportunities, and can constructively challenge the status quo when needed. You are able to focus on details and processes, as well as being strategic, always being a proactive problem solver.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

- Experience coordinating learning courses and events, with an eye for detail and a passion for creating meaningful experiences, including an appreciation for the small touches that help people feel valued, connected and engaged.
- Confidence working with technology (for example LMS, HRIS or other) and a willingness to learn new tools, experiment with ideas and comfortable with AI-enabled ways of working, able to balance creative and process-oriented thinking and skills.
- Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- A collaborative and pro-active solutions focused approach, with self-starting initiative to work autonomously and make decisions.

Why Southern Cross University SCU is proudly a regional university, young, small and vibrant. That means you’ll find more exposure, opportunity and ownership - to grow, achieve and build a career that means more.
