The Opportunity

We're looking for an ambitious Legal Headhunter to join our growing team.

This isn't a high-volume recruitment role. You'll work on retained and contingent assignments, develop long-term relationships with lawyers, advise clients on market trends and build a reputation as a trusted expert within Australia's legal profession.

Whether you're an experienced legal recruiter or a recruiter from another professional services discipline looking to specialise, you'll receive the support and autonomy to build your own market.

What You'll Do

- Build and maintain relationships with lawyers across all levels of private practice.
- Develop trusted partnerships with law firm clients and hiring partners.
- Manage recruitment assignments from briefing through to successful placement.
- Identify and approach passive candidates using strategic search methodologies.
- Conduct in-depth candidate interviews and career consultations.
- Prepare candidate profiles, interview briefs and recruitment recommendations.
- Negotiate offers and manage the process through to commencement.
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals and relationship building.




- Represent DC Legal professionally across meetings, events and digital platforms.

About You

You'll likely bring

- Recruitment experience (legal recruitment preferred, although professional services or executive search experience will also be considered).
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- A naturally curious mindset and genuine interest in people and careers.
- Commercial awareness and confidence engaging with senior professionals.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism.
- A proactive approach and genuine desire to build a long-term career in legal search.

A legal qualification or previous experience working within the legal profession would be advantageous but is not essential.
