Our modern fabrication and machining workshops are located just 10 minutes south of Hobart in Kingston. We specialise in the manufacture, repair, refurbishment, installation, and maintenance of industrial equipment.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a confident Machine Shop Supervisor with CNC exposure, strong conventional machining knowledge and the ability to lead a skilled team. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you'll coordinate the day-to-day activities of around 12 people and act as the link between management and the workshop. The work ranges from basic components to precision machining of unique, quality-critical assets in a low-volume jobbing environment.

What You'll Do

- Coordinate daily workshop priorities, labour, materials and job information.
- Support secure, efficient production and help resolve technical issues.
- Lead and develop tradespeople and apprentices.
- Check work quality, monitor progress and maintain good workshop communication.

What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have:

- A strong commitment to safe work practices, quality and efficient production.
- A mechanical trade qualification.
- Experience with CNC machining.
- Strong conventional machining and mechanical fitting knowledge.
- Experience in an industrial jobbing workshop and leading tradespeople.
- Effective people management, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage several workshop activities at the same time.
- Drawing interpretation, precision measurement and basic computer skills.
- The ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
