This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role suited to a skilled Boilermaker/Fitter who is confident with welding but also enjoys mechanical maintenance, preventative maintenance and working across a range of plant and equipment.

The role is not 100% welding. You will be involved in a variety of mechanical maintenance duties across the site, including conveyor systems, hoists, wheel replacements, repairs and preventative maintenance.

There may also be opportunities to assist the electrical maintenance team when required.

The Role

As a Maintenance Boilermaker/Fitter, you will play an significant role in keeping the plant, machinery and production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Your Day-to-day Duties May Include

- Performing preventative maintenance (PMs) across the plant
- Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs and breakdown work
- Welding, fabrication and repairs using a range of welding techniques
- Working on conveyor systems and associated equipment
- Maintaining and repairing hoists and other plant equipment
- Carrying out wheel replacements and general mechanical repairs
- Fabricating, modifying and repairing steel components and structures
- Cutting, grinding, drilling and shaping steel using hand and power tools
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings where required
- Inspecting plant and equipment and identifying maintenance issues
- Assisting with general site maintenance duties
- Working alongside electricians and assisting with tasks when required
- Supporting the wider maintenance team during breakdowns and production requirements




- Maintaining accurate and timely completion of daily PMs
- Following all site safety procedures and maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Working occasional afternoon shifts when required, with an appropriate shift loading paid
- Working occasional weekend overtime when required, although weekend work is expected to be rare

Shift Details

- Monday to Friday
- Standard hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Alternative working-hour arrangements may be considered by agreement
- Occasional afternoon shifts may be required
- An appropriate shift loading will be paid for afternoon shift work
- Weekend overtime may occasionally be required, although this is expected to be very rare

About You To Succeed In This Position, You Will Ideally Have

- Previous experience as a Boilermaker, Maintenance Boilermaker, Fitter/Boilermaker or similar
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience
- Confident and experienced welding skills across multiple welding processes
- Experience working on industrial plant and machinery
- Experience with conveyor systems, hoists and mechanical equipment
- Ability to carry out preventative maintenance and daily PMs
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently
- Current EWP licence
- Confined Space ticket




- Relevant Boilermaking/Fitting trade qualification
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Willingness to assist electricians and other trades when required
- Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a range of maintenance duties
- Solid commitment to safety and quality
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
- Full working rights in Australia
