Davidson has partnered with Gippsland Water to appoint a Manager AI, Data and Intelligence, a senior leadership opportunity responsible for shaping the organisation's enterprise approach to artificial intelligence, data and analytics, innovation, enterprise architecture and business improvement.

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and leading a small team, the Manager AI, Data and Intelligence will bring together AI, data and analytics, innovation, enterprise architecture, process improvement and efficiency as an integrated enterprise capability.
You'll lead the development of strategies, governance frameworks, roadmaps and standards that enable Gippsland Water to adopt AI and emerging technologies responsibly, strengthen the quality and accessibility of enterprise data and translate new ideas into practical and measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and evolution of enterprise strategies and roadmaps across AI, data and analytics, innovation, enterprise architecture and business improvement.
- Establish and mature AI and data governance frameworks, ensuring responsible use across privacy, cyber security, ethics, risk and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the enterprise approach to data management,
business intelligence and analytics, improving data quality, accessibility and confidence in organisational information.
- Shape enterprise architecture principles, capability maps, target-state views and transformation roadmaps that connect business strategy with technology investment.
- Lead innovation initiatives, AI pilots and proofs of concept from opportunity identification through to scaled delivery and business-as-usual adoption.
- Establish business cases and benefits realisation frameworks that demonstrate the value, productivity improvements and return on investment generated through AI and technology initiatives.
About You
You're an experienced transformation, technology or data leader who knows how to turn emerging technologies into meaningful business outcomes. You can see the bigger picture, but you're equally comfortable getting into the detail required to move ideas from strategy through to execution.
You'll bring experience across AI, data governance and enterprise transformation, with the ability to establish practical frameworks, prioritise opportunities and manage the risks associated with emerging technology. You'll be confident engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complexity into clear direction and building organisational capability along the way.
Must-Haves
- Substantial experience across strategy,
transformation, technology, innovation, business architecture, business improvement or organisational capability roles.
- Demonstrated experience across AI and data governance, data quality and risk, ideally within a regulated or complex environment.
- Strong experience across AI and data governance, data quality and risk, ideally within a regulated or complex workplace.
- Experience developing and implementing governance frameworks, policies, standards or operating models.
- Proven ability to take AI, data and technology opportunities from strategic thinking through to practical execution and measurable business outcomes.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience leading enterprise-wide change, innovation or capability development within a regulated or complex organisation.
