12-Month Fixed Term Contract| Brisbane CBD | Firstline Leader

- Take on a high-profile, hands-on capital markets role at the heart of Suncorp's Group capital agenda
- 12-month fixed-term contract prospect to build your regulatory, disclosure and Board-reporting capability
- Genuine flexible working arrangements, with a leader who backs a coaching-first, curious team culture

About The Role Suncorp Group firmly believes in contributing to a more resilient Australia. As part of our Finance & Advice community, the Capital & Investments team plays a critical role in shaping and protecting Suncorp's capital position.

We're looking for an experienced, curious professional to join the Capital Strategy & Funding team on a 12-month fixed-term contract as Manager, Capital Strategy & Funding. Reporting to the EM Capital Funding & Strategy, you'll take hands-on ownership of capital transactions and support capital monitoring, reporting and forecasting cycles. You’ll be part of a team that translates complex capital matters into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior leaders, executives and the Board.

You don't need prior capital markets experience to thrive here – what matters most is a strong foundation in research, advice, financial statement analysis, consolidations, and regulatory/statutory reporting, paired with genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn. This is a fast-changing, high-visibility environment, and you'll be supported by a coaching-style leader who is passionate about building capability and fostering a culture of curiosity and development.

What You'll Do

- Own end-to-end capital initiatives, including opportunities to maximise capital efficiency across dividends, on-market buybacks, and AT1/Tier 2 capital issuance and redemption
- Support the capital monitoring, reporting and forecast process – including review, analysis, recommendations and stakeholder management
- Prepare and review high-quality senior executive and Board papers, backed by clear analysis, strategic options and decision-ready insights

- Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across due diligence processes, APRA engagement and transaction teams
- Challenge and redesign existing processes to improve quality, efficiency, control outcomes and commercial value
- Coach and support the wider Capital Strategy & Funding team to lift capability and build cross-functional depth
- Get involved in special projects and broader Capital Management priorities

What You'll Bring

- Capital experience isn't essential – we're more interested in your core skills and your appetite to learn. You'll bring:
- Recognised Accounting, Finance or Actuarial degree, plus a related post-graduate qualification (CA/CPA/CFA/AIAA or equivalent)
- Strong experience (7+ years) in a reporting or advisory role, with a solid grounding in financial statement analysis, consolidations, and regulatory/statutory reporting or sound actuarial capital reporting experience
- Working knowledge of disclosure obligations, ASX listing rules and the Corporations Act, and confidence applying them in practice
- A track record of process improvement – simplifying processes, strengthening controls and delivering timely analysis and recommendations
- Experience leading cross-functional projects or delivery teams, with a genuine, hands-on coaching leadership style
- Curiosity and confidence to test assumptions and established processes, paired with a strong governance and risk mindset
- A love of a changing workflow – you're energised (not overwhelmed) by shifting priorities and competing deadlines
- A collaborative, team-first mindset,

with a passion for fostering curiosity and development in others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide senior stakeholders through critical decisions
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Business Intelligence tools is an advantage
