Manager Cyber Intelligence
- Temporary, full time (35hpw) opportunity for up to 18 months with the possibility for ongoing.
- Clerk Grade 11/12 - $154,231 to $178,369 base salary p/a plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Sydney CBD, and Olympic Park locations - hybrid working conditions and a 50% office presence required. Flexible working arrangements may be available in line with the DCS Flexible Working Policy.
About the role Cyber Security NSW is seeking a Manager Cyber Intelligence to lead the Cyber Intelligence team and to continuously improve cyber intelligence capabilities to strengthen the organisation's cyber resilience and support informed cyber security decisions.
This position requires work outside standard hours on an on-call roster and during cyber incidents.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing cyber intelligence capability to deliver timely, actionable and trusted intelligence services, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and professional development.
- Direct the delivery and continuous improvement of cyber intelligence services and initiatives to strengthen organisational cyber resilience security outcomes.
- Provide strategic advice and intelligence-led insights to inform executive decision-making, organisational priorities and long-term planning.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of intelligence frameworks, methodologies and analytical capabilities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of intelligence outputs.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships to strengthen information sharing, collaboration and coordinated responses to cyber threats and risks.
- Lead the identification, assessment and communication of cyber threats and risks to support proactive risk management and informed decision-making.
- Guide strategic analysis of the evolving cyber threat landscape and emerging technologies to inform organisational preparedness and resilience.
- Represent the organisation in strategic forums and stakeholder engagements to influence cyber security outcomes and promote best practice.
Essential requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) or higher, and willingness to undergo a criminal history and identity verification and ongoing probity checks as a condition of employment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Australian state and federal cyber security policies and frameworks.
- Willingness and ability to work outside standard business hours when required to support operational and incident response activities.

About the team Cyber Security Defence & Capability (CDC) provides safeguarding measures to strengthen cyber security across the NSW Government. CDC delivers plans for cyber incident recovery and response, develops bespoke intelligence of the cyber landscape and issues alerts for vulnerabilities impacting systems used by NSW Government agencies.
