Mechanical Engineer – FIFO | Tropicana Gold Mine

FIFO Perth | 4:3 Roster | $90–$95/hr + Super | Contract through December

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a client-side contract opportunity at the Tropicana Gold Mine, running from now through to December.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the build, installation and commissioning of a mobile crushing plant, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong mining, crushing, materials handling or fixed/mobile plant experience.

The roster is a highly attractive 4 days on / 3 days off FIFO roster from Perth, meaning you'll be home every weekend for a three-day long weekend.

The Role

Working in a client-side capacity, responsibilities will include:

- Provide mechanical engineering support for the build and installation of a mobile crusher plant.
- Support construction, installation, commissioning and handover activities.
- Provide technical input across crushers, conveyors, materials handling equipment and associated mechanical systems.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, maintenance and site operations teams.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide practical engineering solutions on site.
- Monitor quality, compliance and progress of mechanical works.




- Ensure works comply with relevant Australian Standards, site procedures and safety requirements.

About You To be considered, you will ideally have:

- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience within mining, mineral processing, crushing or materials handling environments.
- Experience with crusher plant construction, installation and/or commissioning highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of mobile/fixed plant and mechanical equipment.
- Previous FIFO or site-based experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a client-side role and coordinate contractors.
- Available to commence at short notice and commit through to December.
- Clean National Police Clearance / clean police record required.

$90–$95 per hour + Super, based on experience.
