The Opportunity Join our Moorebank team supporting Australia's Defence Force through the Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC). As a Fitter , you will carry out maintenance, repair, modification and reconditioning activities on a range of specialist Defence equipment to support operational readiness.
Working within a collaborative maintenance team, you'll undertake installation, inspection and repair work on military armaments, small engines and other equipment, while delivering high-quality outcomes in line with Defence, safety and manufacturer standards.

Key Accountabilities
- Maintain, repair, modify and recondition specialist Defence equipment.
- Conduct installation, inspection and servicing activities on military armaments, small engines and associated equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions to determine job requirements.
- Operate machinery and workshop equipment to manufacture or modify parts and components.
- Assemble, fit and test mechanical components and equipment.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure work meets Defence and manufacturer standards.
- Provide technical advice and support to equipment operators and stakeholders.
- Complete maintenance documentation and relevant data entry requirements.
- Contribute to a safe, compliant and efficient workshop environment.
About You
- Hold a Trade Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner) or equivalent.
- Hold a current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining, repairing and fault-finding on mechanical equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and maintenance documentation.
- Experience using workshop machinery, tools and measuring equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use proprietary software and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
