We’re looking for a mid-weight, experienced, proactive and hands-on Media & Communications Manager to join the Marketing and Communications team at Optus Stadium.
From major sporting events and global concerts to venue experiences, partnerships and business initiatives, you’ll manage the Stadium’s day-to-day media activity and help tell the stories behind one of Australia’s leading entertainment destinations.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, this is an execution-focused role for someone who can build strong media relationships, respond confidently to enquiries and coordinate everything from proactive publicity opportunities to media calls, press conferences and major event-day operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage day-to-day media activity and act as the primary contact for media enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets and key industry contacts.
- Plan and coordinate media calls, press conferences, announcements, interviews, and media access.
- Collaborate with marketing team members to integrate media activity into specific campaigns and event promotions.
- Coordinate internal communications and communications relating to venue operations and customer matters.
- Undertake media monitoring and contribute insights and outcomes to campaign and event reporting.
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in media, communications, public relations or a related role.
- Excellent written and communications skills.
- Strong relationships across the Perth media landscape and a sound understanding of the local media environment.
- Experience managing proactive and reactive media activity in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence coordinating media events,
interviews and press conferences.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- A genuine interest in sport, entertainment, major events, tourism and hospitality.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including weekends and major event days.
- Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia (no limitations on hours or restrictions working for the same employer).
