The Role This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll take ownership of HVAC system design from concept through to delivery. You’ll work closely with clients, builders, and internal teams to develop practical, high-performance solutions tailored to each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC systems from concept through to detailed design and delivery
- Take ownership of system performance, efficiency, and overall design outcomes
- Analyse and optimise system design to meet project and client requirements
- Liaise directly with clients, builders, and consultants to define project needs and provide technical guidance
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and deliverables are met
- Produce and review technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Revit
- Coordinate with drafting, estimating, and senior management to ensure integrated project delivery
Skills & Experience
Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in HVAC or mechanical building services engineering
- Relevant engineering qualification (and registration if applicable)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience highly regarded
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical services, and system design principles
- Advanced working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on practical, buildable solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience working on high-end residential or bespoke projects
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, and mechanical assemblies
- Exposure to BIM environments or project coordination
- Experience engaging directly with clients or leading design discussions
