About the role

Medbill supports medical specialists with their billing and payment processes. This opportunity would suit university or TAFE students studying medicine, medical imaging or radiography, pharmacy, paramedicine, nursing, allied health or health administration. We also welcome applicants from other backgrounds who are interested in a career in healthcare. No previous medical billing experience is required. We provide training and support to help you learn.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with medical billing and administration
- Learn about the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and how medical billing works
- Help check patient, provider and billing information for accuracy
- Support the preparation, processing and follow-up of claims
- Build an understanding of how medical practices, Medicare and private health funds interact
- Handle confidential information carefully and professionally

About you We’re looking for someone who:

- Is keen to learn and comfortable asking questions
- Has strong attention to detail and confidence using computers




- Communicates clearly and enjoys working in a team
- Is dependable and can maintain a regular work schedule alongside their studies

You’ll need to commit to:

- 3–5 days per week during semester and then ideally, full-time hours during semester holidays.
- Working from our Spring Hill, Brisbane office throughout your initial training period of 3–6 months.

We offer flexible schedule around your study timetable, with your regular availability agreed in advance. During training, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues in our office to build your knowledge and confidence. You’ll gain practical skills and experience you can take into your future healthcare career.
