Job Description
Payroll Leadership
- Lead end-to-end payroll operations.
- Ensure all payroll cycles are processed accurately, compliantly and on time.
- Oversee payroll governance, controls, reconciliations and statutory obligations.
- Manage complex payroll matters and act as the senior escalation point.
- Ensure payroll service delivery standards are achieved consistently.
Remuneration & Benefits
- Lead the annual remuneration review process.
- Develop and maintain salary frameworks and remuneration governance.
- Provide remuneration and benefits advice to senior leaders.
- Support workforce planning through remuneration analysis and reporting.
- Recommend reward initiatives aligned to business objectives.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing payroll team.
- Build strong relationships across People & Culture, Finance and Operational leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement projects and systems enhancements.
- Support organisational change and payroll transformation initiatives.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with payroll legislation and industrial obligations.
- Oversee reporting, auditing and payroll risk management activities.
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
- Deliver accurate payroll reporting and workforce insights to senior stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Significant experience leading payroll functions within large or complex organisations.
- Demonstrated experience managing remuneration, reward or benefits programs.
- Solid knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements and payroll governance.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Experience driving payroll improvements, system upgrades or transformation projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills, including Excel expertise.
- Exposure to UKG/Kronos, Oracle HCM, ADP Payforce or similar payroll systems will be highly regarded.
