Overview

We are currently looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our reception team in our busy South Brisbane dermatology clinic on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm (subject to change).

As a not-for-profit organisation you also have the benefit of receiving up to $15,900 of your income tax free.

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Welcoming patients and visitors to our practice
- Taking incoming calls
- Patient arrival check-in and departure
- Billing of consultations and minor procedures
- Appointment booking and record management
- Task and email management
- Data entry
- Appointment confirmation and ensuring appropriate patient forms are provided
- Auditing the diary for the week ahead
- Recalls
- Liaise with consultants, registrars, external stakeholders and your fellow admin team to ensure the smooth running of the practice
- Open and close processes

Required Qualifications:

- Experience as a medical receptionist (a medical/clinical background desirable)
- Xestro medical software experience desirable (full training provided if required)
- Ability to take direction and work to a checklist
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a specialist practice
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, customer service skills and the ability to prioritise while handling multiple tasks is required.




- Knowledge of DVA, Medicare and ADF billing (highly desired but not essential)
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work within a team-focused setting
- Exemplary telephone manner
- A proactive patient-focused attitude

As a teaching institute, QIDerm provides education in medical dermatology and contributes to the development of future dermatologists in association with the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

Our medical team of 11 Dermatologists, 4 Registrars, 4 Clinical Assistants and 7 Nurses provide medical and surgical dermatology services to private, DVA and ADF patients.
