Shape the Future of Relationships Australia Queensland
Experienced Non-Executive Directors
Every day, Relationships Australia Queensland helps people navigate some of life's most important and challenging moments.
Through education counselling, and community programs, RAQ works alongside individuals, families and communities to build stronger relationships, create positive change and improve lives across Queensland.
As the organisation looks ahead to its next chapter, RAQ is seeking experienced Non-Executive Directors to join its Board.
This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise to an organisation with a deeply human purpose, helping ensure it remains strong, sustainable, and responsive to the changing needs of the communities it serves.
Contribute to a Board Looking Forward
RAQ's Board is focused not only on strong governance today, but on what the organisation will need to thrive tomorrow.
The Board is looking for seasoned directors who can contribute strategic insight, sound judgement and constructive challenge as the organisation considers future growth, innovation, sustainability, and new opportunities to strengthen its impact.
Importantly, this is not a first-time director opportunity. We are seeking individuals who have previously served on boards and who understand the responsibilities of governing complex organisations. You will bring the confidence to contribute at board level from day one, while remaining curious, collaborative, and committed to the organisation's purpose.
Who We Are Looking For
You will be an experienced director who can contribute across governance, strategy, and risk, rather than solely from the perspective of your professional discipline. You will bring broad governance experience and sound sector judgement, along with a genuine desire to make a meaningful contribution.
Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- People and culture leadership
- Innovation, growth and future-focused strategy
- Technology, digital governance and AI
Most importantly, you will understand that effective governance is about people. You will appreciate the importance of listening to diverse voices, considering the lived experiences of clients and communities, and bringing compassion alongside commercial and strategic thinking. Diverse Perspectives Strengthen Outstanding Boards
RAQ is committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.
Applications are particularly encouraged from people from culturally and racially marginalised communities, First Nations peoples, individuals with lived experience relevant to RAQ's work, and those who can bring perspectives that broaden and enrich discussion around the board table. The Board values diversity of thought, experience and background, recognising that better decisions are made when different perspectives are heard and respected.
