About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join the team at S&C; Allied Health in the Riverland, SA. This is a full-time position that offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and person-centred care. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals of all ages achieve independence, improve their functional abilities and enhance their quality of life.
This position is based in the Riverland, and involves travelling directly to clients, whether that's their home, school, or another familiar environment. You will be part of a team-oriented allied health team committed to delivering high-quality rehabilitation and therapeutic services.
What you'll be doing
- Travelling to clients in their own environment - home, school or community setting, to deliver therapy where it's most relevant and effective for them
- Conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify client needs, abilities and goals across various settings
- Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans tailored to each client's specific requirements and objectives
- Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions focusing on activities of daily living, functional mobility, work-related tasks and community participation
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members including physiotherapists, speech pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic client care
- Educating clients and their families about therapeutic programmes, adaptive strategies and equipment recommendations
- Maintaining detailed and accurate client records in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements
- Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes
- Contributing to a positive workplace culture through effective communication and teamwork with colleagues
- Staying current with best practice standards and participating in professional development opportunities
What we're looking for
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) or eligibility to register
- A demonstrated understanding of occupational therapy principles and their application in clinical practice
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to address diverse client needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- The ability to work autonomously whilst collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- A commitment to client-centred practice and person-centred care principles
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients efficiently
- Experience working in rehabilitation, community health or allied health settings is highly valued
- A genuine passion for helping others achieve independence and improve their functional abilities
- A full driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly to clients across the Riverland region
