Marree Aboriginal School and Preschool is a small B-12 site located in the far north of South Australia, 690 kilometers from Adelaide.
The Marree
Township is accessible by bitumen and is at the junction of the Birdsville and Oodnadatta tracks. The residents of Marree derive from Aboriginal, Afghan and European heritage. Marree is the home of the Arabana and Dieri people. The school is well resourced and supported by families and the community. Marree is a small, friendly and safe community to live and work in.
We are seeking a flexible enthusiastic and collaborative Early Childhood/Early Years Teacher to join our dynamic team working in an ever-changing environment. This a wonderful opportunity for the right person to make a real difference in the educational outcomes of remote students. The school is well resourced and offers a stimulating, challenging and supportive environment for learning where exciting opportunities exist for an energetic and committed educator to contribute to a strong, inclusive culture by creating a setting where children, families and staff thrive.
You will be working in a setting where relationship-based teaching, play and responsive curriculum designs are supported. The role is supported by an experienced Aboriginal SSO where you will collaborate as a kinship team tor the best outcomes of our children. The role will require the successful applicant to teach in the Preschool,
0.6 FTE as well as some teaching in the Junior Primary/Primary Class 0.4 FTE.
