Alex Group Aus Pty Ltd is an established and growing Australian wholesale and distribution business specialising in bathroom products. Through our AULIC and LAFEME brands, we supply a broad range of bathroom products including vanities, shaving cabinets, mirrors, smart toilets and bidet solutions to retailers, builders, plumbing merchants and commercial customers across Australia. With a growing national customer base, sales team and product range, supported by our Australian operations and China-based team, we are continuing to invest in the people, systems and processes required for the next stage of our growth.

About the role

This is a senior, hands-on management position with genuine responsibility and day-to-day decision-making authority. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take ownership of the daily operations of the business and lead teams across Australia and China. You will ensure our people, systems and operational processes work effectively together across administration, customer service, orders, warranty, warehouse, logistics and other cross-functional business activities.

This is not a purely administrative or desk-based management role. We are looking for someone who can lead people, improve processes and make sound operational decisions, while remaining comfortable stepping into practical day-to-day issues when required.

Key responsibilities

- Operational Management – Lead the day-to-day operations of the business, make operational decisions, resolve issues and ensure priorities are effectively executed across departments.
- People & Team Leadership – Manage and develop the Administration, Operations, Warehouse and China-based teams, with clear accountability for performance, workload and team effectiveness.
- Customer Service, Orders & Warranty – Oversee customer service, order processing and after-sales/warranty operations to maintain high and consistent service standards.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination – Oversee warehouse performance, freight, deliveries, stock movements and operational coordination to improve efficiency and service outcomes.
- Systems & Process Improvement – Take ownership of operational systems including CIN7, develop and maintain SOPs, improve workflows and identify opportunities for automation and greater efficiency.
- Commercial & Sales Support – Ensure effective operational support for our national Sales team, including customer onboarding, displays, pricing implementation and key account requirements.
- China Team Management – Lead the day-to-day activities and performance of our China-based team across product, marketing, warranty, quality control and operational projects.
- Business Improvement & Operational Strategy – Work closely with the General Manager to improve organisational structure, systems, processes, KPIs and operational capacity as the business continues to grow nationally.

About you

- Mandarin Chinese language skills would be highly regarded, given the role's regular communication and management responsibilities with our China-based team.
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Customer Service Manager or similar operational leadership position
- Strong people management experience with the ability to set expectations, manage performance and build accountability
- Experience within wholesale distribution, bathroomware, plumbing, building products, hardware or a related industry
- Strong understanding of order processing, customer service, warehousing, freight and general business operations
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes, establish procedures and solve recurring operational problems
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
- Confidence making day-to-day decisions independently within agreed authority
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different departments and locations
- A practical, hands-on management style combined with sound commercial judgement
