CASUAL OSHC SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATOR (BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL and VACATION CARE)
Join the St Columba's OSHC Bayswater Team!
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Casual OSHC Educator with training or experience in delivering personal care procedures, including intermittent catheterization (or willingness to undertake specialist training) to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is currently studying, or interested in pursuing, a career in Education and Care, Teaching, Youth Work, Community Services, Nursing or a related field.

About The Role
As a Casual OSHC Educator, you will play an important role in creating a positive environment where children can learn, play, build friendships, and develop confidence. You will work alongside a supportive team to ensure children are safe, engaged, and thriving throughout their time in our care.
Specifically,
you will support the implementation of an individual student’s personal care plan, including the intermittent catheterization at scheduled times. Relevant training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the safety, wellbeing, and supervision of children.
- Building positive and respectful relationships with children, families, school staff, and fellow educators.
- Creating engaging experiences that reflect children's interests and strengths.
- Encouraging children's independence, confidence, and sense of belonging.
- Contributing ideas, observations, and reflections to support our program.
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of afternoon tea and other food experiences.
- Maintaining a clean, protected, and welcoming environment through general cleaning and daily housekeeping tasks.
- Working collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team.
- Deliver personal care procedures, including the intermittent catheterization to a student in care.
Selection Criteria
- Previous experience working with special needs is essential
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Currently studying towards, or have completed, a relevant qualification.
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to get involved.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- A willingness to support and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of St Columba's School
Qualifications Required
- Working With Children Check.
- National Police Clearance.
- First Aid Certificate.
- CPR Certificate.
- National Child Safety and Mandatory Reporting Training.
