Maroon Outdoor Education Centre invites passionate, student-centred teachers to apply for an exciting opportunity to teach and inspire young people through high quality outdoor and experiential learning.

Set in a unique natural environment, Maroon Outdoor Education Centre provides immersive learning experiences in 3-5 day residential outdoor education programs that connect students to themselves, others and the world around them. Our work is grounded in the values of care, prospect and growth, and our belief that every student deserves access to real adventure and real achievement.

This role is ideal for teachers who thrive outside the traditional classroom and are motivated by authentic, hands-on learning experiences. Our teachers provide facilitated learning through high challenge, camping, expedition, canoeing and group problem solving activities.





Maroon OEC teachers work extended hours, including regular night and overnight programs. Maroon OEC has an agreed time-off in lieu agreement for teachers to compensate teachers for extended work time.Maroon Outdoor Education Centre is a unique educational facility operated by the Queensland Department of Education offering 3-5 day residential outdoor education programs to students from Queensland schools.

Prior outdoor education or adventure-based learning experience is preferred for this position.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers and for employment with the Queensland Department of Education.
