At Sonder, we believe every person deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered to be at their best, wherever they are. We're redefining workplace health, safety, and wellbeing through a seamless blend of technology and human expertise. Sonder's mobile platform provides 24/7, real-time support from a dedicated team of safety, medical, and mental health professionals, ensuring members receive immediate care when they need it most.
Since our founding in 2017, we've grown rapidly across Australia, Current Zealand, and the UK. Backed by Seek and Blackbird, we now support over one million members and 200+ team members globally. We're well-capitalised, scaling fast, and actively building toward an AI-native organisation.
About the Role
This is a high-ownership, standalone role at a critical point in Sonder's growth into insurance. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you'll own the insurance partner channel end-to-end, building relationships with insurers and the brokers who control the deal, then handing qualified, multithreaded pipeline to our Account Executives with enough momentum behind it to close. There's no existing playbook and no team underneath you. You're the one building it.
What You'll Bring
- Several years in commercial, business development, partnerships, or account management, with a genuine track record of owning the hard part of a deal rather than just opening the door
- Experience in insurance, or in another regulated, relationship-heavy industry, with the appetite to learn the workers' compensation and insurance landscape properly
- Confidence multithreading and building trust across multiple stakeholders, insurers, brokers, and internal AEs,
whose incentives don't always line up
- Comfortable operating without a playbook, building process and structure from the ground up rather than working from one
- Resilience to manage long, complex, three-party sales cycles in a governance-heavy environment
- Experience using a CRM, ideally HubSpot, to build and maintain a rigorous partner and deal pipeline
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the judgement to work out who actually controls a deal
Nice to Have
- Existing relationships with major insurance brokers such as Marsh, AON, or Willis, or with insurers active in workers' compensation
- Experience in the workers' compensation space specifically, or in insurance-adjacent employee benefits
