The Position

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our Payroll Team, providing support and continuity during a period of leave.

Working collaboratively with the Payroll Team, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services across Council, ensuring payroll procedures and policies are consistently followed.

The role includes processing payroll information, responding to employee enquiries, and preparing payroll reports and reconciliations, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy, confidentiality and customer service. About the Role

- Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages, including required payroll reporting and reconciliations.

- Deliver payroll services in accordance with Council policies, procedures, legislation and certified agreements.

- Maintain an effective, compliant and customer-focused payroll function.

- Identify and implement continuous improvements, including better use of TechOne, to improve efficiency and the employee experience.

Skills & Experience

- Certificate IV in Business or Finance, or significant payroll/finance experience in a medium to large organisation.

- Sound knowledge of payroll systems, with strong Microsoft Office, literacy and numeracy skills.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and deliver accurate, timely outcomes.

- Strong problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and attention to detail.

- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build cooperative relationships while maintaining confidentiality.





- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrate required behavioural competencies, and hold a current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
