Senior Event Planner

Lead Premium Events Across a Multi-Venue Portfolio

Exceptional events don't happen by chance.

They are delivered by organised, commercial and people-focused professionals who can manage multiple clients, multiple stakeholders and multiple events, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality.

We're partnering with one of Melbourne's leading hospitality and events groups to recruit a Senior Event Planner to join a high-performing team responsible for delivering premium events across a diverse and exciting venue portfolio.

This is not a coordinator role.

We're seeking an experienced event professional who has operated within a high-volume environment, understands the pace and complexity of managing multiple events simultaneously, and can confidently lead others while delivering exceptional client experiences.

If you thrive in a fast-paced hospitality or events environment and enjoy turning plans into flawless event experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Event Planner, you will take ownership of client relationships from event confirmation through to delivery, acting as the key link between clients, sales teams, venue operations and suppliers.

You'll play a critical role in ensuring every event is planned, communicated and executed to the highest standard while supporting the ongoing development of the planning team and contributing to continuous improvement across the business.

Working across a diverse portfolio of corporate events, weddings, social occasions and premium hospitality experiences, you'll have the chance to influence both the client journey and the overall event experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage events from file handover through to successful execution.
- Build strong and lasting relationships with clients throughout the planning journey.
- Conduct planning meetings, venue inspections and event briefings.
- Prepare detailed event orders,

run sheets and operational documentation.
- Coordinate suppliers, contractors and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with sales and venue operations teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Drive additional revenue opportunities through thoughtful upselling and client recommendations.
- Attend key events and provide operational oversight where required.
- Support, mentor and develop junior planning team members.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance business performance and the client experience.
- Conduct post-event reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for a highly organised and commercially minded events professional who enjoys balancing client relationships, operational delivery and team leadership.

You will have a proven background managing a high volume of events and be comfortable operating within a fast-paced, multi-site or multi-venue environment.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

- Demonstrated experience in event planning, event management or venue-based events.
- Experience working within a high-volume hospitality, catering, conference or events business.
- Exposure to multi-venue, multi-site or complex event operations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supporting, mentoring or managing team members.
- Exceptional stakeholder and client relationship management capabilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining outstanding attention to detail.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of revenue generation opportunities.

- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
- A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, events and client service.

What Makes This Role Different?

This opportunity offers far more than simply planning events.

You'll join a well-established and highly regarded hospitality group where you'll have genuine ownership of the client journey, influence event outcomes and work alongside experienced industry professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to innovation, support the development of others and play an important role in the continued growth of a successful events business.

Why Join?

- Work across a diverse portfolio of premium events and venues.
- Join a respected and growing hospitality and events group.
- Genuine leadership and mentoring opportunities.
- Be part of a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Influence client experiences from beginning to end.
- Enjoy variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make an impact.
