Retail Manager (ANZSCO ****** - Retail Manager)

Full-time/Permanent

$80,000 - $85,000 (salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and responsibilities:

- Recruit, train, supervise and motivate retail staff to maintain efficient operations and achieve the flower shop’s sales and customer service objectives.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to promote floral arrangements, bouquets, plants, gifts and related products.
- Lead the retail team in achieving daily, monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor market trends, customer preferences, seasonal demand and competitor activities, and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Determine the appropriate product range, including fresh flowers, floral arrangements, plants, giftware and event-related products, to meet sales, margin and customer expectations.
- Plan and coordinate seasonal promotions, window displays, in-store events and marketing campaigns for occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, weddings and other celebrations.
- Train and encourage staff to provide knowledgeable product advice, recommend suitable floral products and identify opportunities for complementary sales.




- Monitor stock levels and coordinate the timely replenishment of fresh flowers, plants, packaging materials and gift products while minimising spoilage and wastage.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts based on seasonal trends, customer demand and historical sales performance.
- Review daily, weekly and monthly sales results to assess performance and maintain the profitability of the business.
- Manage the flower shop’s profit and loss performance, including revenue, operating costs, margins and expenditure.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor expenditure, analyse financial variances and implement corrective measures where necessary.
- Ensure that the shop, floral preparation areas, displays and storage facilities are maintained in a clean, secure and visually appealing condition.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, employment obligations, consumer laws and all other applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Relevant AQF Diploma
- 1 year of relevant experience is essential
- 3 years of relevant experience may substitute the need for having a formal qualification
