Flexible shifts. Familiar faces. Care that matters.

Location: Stanwell Park

Want the flexibility of casual work without feeling like a stranger every time you walk through the door?

UPA of NSW is building a directly employed casual team of Personal Care Workers/Care Service Employees across [INSERT LOCATION] for Christmas, New Year and beyond.

These are direct UPA employment opportunities—not agency placements. You won’t just be another name filling a shift; you’ll be a UPA employee and part of the team from day one.

You’ll receive a proper UPA induction, ongoing workplace support and the chance to work with familiar residents, teams and homes rather than starting from scratch every shift.

It’s the flexibility of casual work, with real connection and support—and the potential to move into ongoing or permanent employment when opportunities become available.

WHY THIS CASUAL ROLE IS DIFFERENT

As a directly employed UPA casual, you’ll receive:

- Flexible shifts matched to your availability where possible

- Competitive casual rates, including applicable loadings and penalty rates

- Opportunities for extra work throughout Christmas, New Year and beyond

- Proper UPA induction, workplace training and ongoing support
- The opportunity to return to familiar residents, employees and homes

- Access to UPA’s Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
- The chance to be considered for permanent roles when suitable vacancies become available

- Meaningful work supporting older people in your community

As a Personal Care Worker/Care Service Employee, you’ll support residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to the things they enjoy.

Your responsibilities may include

- Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities

- Assisting residents with mobility

- Supporting medication administration when appropriately trained and assessed as competent

- Completing accurate care documentation
- Working closely with nurses and other care employees

- Building positive relationships with residents and their families

YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

- Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification, or are actively working towards one where permitted

- Have a compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people

- Are reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts

- Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team

- Hold current Australian working rights

- Can work across a range of days and shift times

Previous residential aged-care experience and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable.

ABOUT UPA

UPA of NSW is a values-driven, not-for-profit organisation providing residential aged care, home care and retirement living services throughout NSW.

Our focus is easy: ensuring our residents always have “our people by their side”.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of UPA’s required pre-employment checks, which may include:

- National Criminal History Check
- Pre-employment medical assessment

As this is casual employment, shifts will depend on operational requirements and your availability. Availability for morning, afternoon, night, weekend and public-holiday shifts will be highly regarded.
