Campground Kitchen
Braybrook
Campground Kitchen is a restaurant in Braybrook. Happy Camper Pizza is our mobile side: pizza trucks that do weddings, birthdays, corporate jobs and winery events across Greater Melbourne. We're after a pizza maker for the events crew.
Most of the work is Friday to Sunday. You meet the team at our Braybrook HQ, load the truck (we generate a packing list for every job, so you're not working it out from memory), drive out, set up and cook. The team lead sorts out who's doing what when you get there. Depending on the day, you might be stretching dough, doing toppings, running the oven. Then pack down, back to HQ, wash up, get the truck ready for the next one.
The venues change every week. A winery one Saturday, a backyard 40th the next, a warehouse wedding in Footscray after that. Set-up is never quite the same twice, and adaptation is a skill you breath day-in day-out. If you've done a few years in restaurants and are over the same four walls, it's a positive change.
Weekdays are mostly yours.
It gets busy from October through April and there are extra shifts available then if you want them.
We've got a small, steady crew and we look after each other. You'll work with the same people most weekends and learn the systems properly instead of starting from scratch every shift.
What we need
- Ideally, 2 years making pizza, wood-fired or gas
- Confident hand-stretching and rolling dough balls
- Australian working rights (please don't apply from overseas)
- Available Saturdays. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are our main days, although October-December are busy weekdays too.
- Driver's licence is handy but not essential
- Comfortable talking to guests. At events you're part of the show, not hidden in a kitchen
Probably not for you if you are not cleaning up after yourself, or go quiet when it gets busy.
