We’re looking for a highly organised Post-Production Assistant to support our content production workflow.
This role sits between the shoot and our editing team. Your main responsibility will be making sure footage, photos, audio and project files are properly organised, backed up, prepared and uploaded so our editors can start working without needing to sort through raw files themselves.
There will also be some light editing and media preparation involved, but this is primarily a post-production organisation and workflow role rather than a full editing position.
Key ResponsibilitiesFile Management & Organisation
- Offload footage, photos and audio following shoots
- Organise files into the correct client and project folder structure
- Rename and categorise files where required
- Ensure footage is stored correctly across our drives and cloud storage
- Upload project files to Dropbox or other required platforms
- Check that files have transferred and uploaded successfully
- Maintain consistent folder structures across all projects
- Archive completed projects when required
Preparing Projects for Editors
- Prepare footage before it is handed over to editors
- Organise interviews,
piece-to-camera footage, B-roll, drone footage and audio
- Sync or prepare audio where required
- Identify and remove obvious unusable footage when instructed
- Prepare editing folders, assets, music, references and briefs
- Ensure editors have everything required before starting a project
Minor Editing & Media Preparation
Depending on the project, you may also assist with:
- Basic footage trimming
- Creating selects or string-out
- Converting or compressing files
- Making very minor amendments to existing edits
This role is not expected to handle the majority of creative editing. The focus is getting projects organised and ready for our editing team.
You'll suit this role if you're organised, technically confident and enjoy building clean systems around creative projects.
You don't need to be an advanced editor, but you should have a positive understanding of video workflows and editing software, as we will provide further training.
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week
Work Location: In person
