Rivergum Allied Therapies is seeking a passionate Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in Ballarat and surrounds.

We welcome applications from practitioners at all career stages, including new or provisional practitioners, experienced clinicians and advanced practitioners looking for leadership opportunities.

You will work alongside occupational therapists, speech pathologists and other allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based, person-centred behaviour support. You will be supported through regular supervision, structured professional development and a sustainable workload.

About the role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will:

- Complete functional behaviour assessments and develop comprehensive behaviour support plans.
- Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed and strengths-based interventions.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, providers and other members of the participant’s care team.
- Support the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices.
- Provide coaching and implementation support to families and disability support teams.
- Monitor participant progress and review strategies based on evidence and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely and compliant clinical documentation.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical governance and service improvement.
- Work in accordance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and Rivergum’s policies and procedures.

Senior applicants may also have opportunities to:
- Provide clinical supervision and mentoring.




- Support practitioner capability development.
- Review behaviour support plans and complex clinical work.
- Contribute to quality assurance and clinical governance.
- Progress into team leadership or clinical leadership roles.

About you

You will bring

- Qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, education, counselling, behaviour science or another relevant discipline.
- Current or eligible registration as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- A sound understanding of positive behaviour support and human-rights-based practice.
- Strong written communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
- The ability to build respectful relationships with participants, families and stakeholders.
- Effective time management and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A commitment to reducing restrictive practices and improving participants’ quality of life.

Experience within the NDIS or disability sector is highly regarded; however, practitioners who are developing their PBS careers are encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain:

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Working with Children Check.
- Relevant professional registration, where applicable.
- A current driver’s licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
- The right to work in Australia.
